【研究目的】
明确降脂治疗能否降低明确诊断有冠状动脉疾病、体内HDL胆固醇水平低、LDL胆固醇水平正常的男性患者由于冠心病和非致死性心肌梗塞所致的复合死亡发生率

随机、双盲、安慰剂对照
 
【随访】
5-7年
 
【患者】
2500名男性，年龄 ≤ 73岁，有冠状动脉疾病，HDL 胆固醇 ≤ 40 mg/dl，LDL胆固醇≤ 140 mg/dl 且甘油三酯 ≤ 300 mg/dl

【治疗方案】
吉非罗齐，1200 mg，每天一次，或安慰剂

健康咨询及美国心脏病学会建议1级饮食
